Dispute Protection Policy

1. Order Cancellations and Restocking Fees

You may cancel your order within 24 hours after placing the order for a full refund, minus any processing fees.
For returns of unused, uninstalled parts in original, resalable condition made within 30 days of delivery, a 25% restocking fee applies (unless otherwise specified). If you agree to the restocking fee and we approve the return, we will process the refund promptly. If you accept our approval of the return and subsequently file a dispute or chargeback, we may present your prior agreement and our records as evidence to contest it.
Note: To avoid unnecessary disputes, please contact us directly for any cancellation or return requests.

2. Disputes Filed Without Prior Notification

You may cancel your order within 24 hours after placing the order for a full refund, minus any processing fees.

3. Disputes for Parts Still in Customer Possession

4. Disputes Based on Price Comparisons

Our pricing reflects the condition, warranty coverage, sourcing and quality of our parts. A customer may not initiate a chargeback solely because you found a lower price elsewhere (such as another merchant, salvage yard or shop). If you believe a part should be returned under our return policy instead, you must follow our Returns Policy. Price comparison alone is not a valid basis for a chargeback under card-network rules.

5. Disputes for Part Failures Without Required Documentation

For mechanical parts (e.g., engines, transmissions), you must provide a computerized diagnostic report from a certified mechanic detailing the failure. For electrical parts (e.g., speedometers, ABS assemblies), you must submit clear photos and videos demonstrating the defect. These must be provided within the applicable warranty period as specified on your invoice. If you initiate a dispute without providing the required documentation, we reserve the right to contest the dispute consistent with our Warranty Policy.

6. General Dispute Resolution and Merchant Rights

We encourage you to resolve issues directly with us in order to avoid chargeback, which may incur additional fees for you and negatively impact your future ordering. American Auto Parts reserves the right to contest any dispute with supporting evidence, including but not limited to invoices, tracking information, inspection reports, and communication records. Our liability is limited to the purchase price of the part, as specified in our Limitation of Liability terms.
